EU climate goals ‘intact’ despite coal use
The EU’s climate change targets stay totally in place despite renewed use of coal resulting from Russia’s “rogue” gasoline cut-offs, a senior EU official has mentioned. “The EU’s 2030 and 2050 [emissions reductions] targets remain fully intact … while we may temporarily increase our use of coal, the long term direction is clear,” Elina Bardram, the fee’s climate finance director instructed a discussion board in Brussels Wednesday, Reuters studies.
