Watch: Time-lapse video shows Caldor Fire threatening Sierra-at-Tahoe ski resort near South Lake Tahoe

TWIN BRIDGES, Calif. (KGO) — Flames from the Caldor Fire, considered one of a number of California wildfires burning up and down the state, have begun to threaten extra ski resorts and communities of South Lake Tahoe.

The U.S. Forest Service has dozens of dwell cameras within the Sierra area, with one atop the Sierra-at-Tahoe ski resort displaying flames creep dangerously shut in a single day Monday.

Winds have created for apocalyptic-like smoke within the Lake Tahoe area. A timelapse digital camera caught a number of the partitions of gray smoke and orange flames intermittently approaching chair lifts atop the mountain ridge.
