Lake Tahoe Caldor Fire: Bear surrounded by smoke while wandering fire zone in Strawberry

STRAWBERRY, Calif. (KGO) — Eerie photos are popping out of the Caldor Fire zone close to Lake Tahoe.

Video of a bear shrouded in smoke was taken Friday in the city of Strawberry in El Dorado County.

You’ll be able to see ash falling because the bear goes about its day.

The Caldor Fire sparked Aug. 14 and is now simply 19% contained after burning almost 245 sq. miles, an space bigger than the town of Chicago.

Over 15,000 California firefighters are battling greater than a dozen massive fires in the state.

The projected date for full containment is Sept. 8, pushed again from early this week, in response to the Related Press.

The Northern Sierra area is below a pink flag warning for essential fire situations on Monday and Tuesday.
