Gas leak prompts evacuations in San Jose near Race Street and Park Avenue

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) — A gasoline leak in San Jose has prompted some evacuations on Wednesday afternoon, in response to police.

Police and fireplace models are at present on the scene near Race Street and Park Avenue. Evacuations are happening inside a 900ft radius of the world.

No accidents have been reported in the incident. Authorities ask residents to keep away from the world.

Bascom Neighborhood Heart at 1000 South Bascom Avenue is open to anybody needing shelter.

PG&E officers say an 8″ steel natural gas line was ruptured. Approximately 325 addresses are within the evacuation area, both residential and commercial units. Officials say the estimate to get the line capped is midnight. 30 customers currently have gas turned off and this number may expand.
