Eskom is embarking on a nationwide initiative to improve pay as you go meter software program by altering the meter coding.
The ability utility mentioned that the present meter software program will expire in 2024, with the preliminary part of the improve undertaking set to start in Gauteng from 1 September.
“This initiative aims to address all meter challenges encountered by customers and to ensure that Eskom has accurate customer data,” it mentioned. “The upgrading of the meter software is not only an Eskom initiative and will be rolled out toll all prepaid Eskom and municipal customers.”
Eskom mentioned that any meter not up to date by 2024 won’t add pay as you go tokens and can depart prospects with out electricity provide.
